RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach 5th-7th Grade STEAM classes, including units in design thinking, coding, robotics,
digital design, AI literacy, digital citizenship, and creative problem solving. - Teach 8th Grade Coding classes using text-based coding languages such as js
- Support and maintain the Innovators Lab, including materials, maker tools, and equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters.
- Potentially design and teach an Upper School Elective.
- Monitor students during additional duties such as lunch or recess.
- Create and maintain an inclusive learning environment that is conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. Affirm the identities of all members of our community.
- Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in educational technology,
STEAM education, and AI-enhanced learning. - Collaborate with teachers and student support teams to monitor, assess, and document students’ academic and social emotional progress.
- Meet and communicate with parents both formally and informally (email, phone calls, conferences, and progress reports).
- Communicate standards, achievements, and areas of concern to students and parents.
- Meet regularly with the Technology Director and Division Directors to receive feedback and mentorship.
- Report directly to the Director of Technology.
Experience teaching or working with middle school students is preferred.
