Overview

The Pre-K Teacher is comfortable teaching material from Pre-K to 1st grade. The Pre-K teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and physical growth of gifted 4- and 5-year-old students as they prepare for kindergarten.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction that aligns with state standards and early learning frameworks.
• Foster a classroom environment that supports early literacy, numeracy, language development, social skills, and self-regulation.
• Create and maintain a structured daily schedule with a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated activities.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs, learning styles, and developmental levels of all students.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to support student development and school community that aligns with the values and mission of the school.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, assessments, and anecdotal notes.
• Implement and uphold school policies and procedures for safety, behavior management, and health standards.
• Participate in professional development sessions, faculty meetings, and school events as required.
• Collaborate with the Student Support Team to meet student needs.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or equivalent education and courses in education and child development. 
• Two years of experience teaching Pre-K, TK, or Early Childhood Education. 
• Minimum 12 units of Early Childhood Education 
• Experience with team teaching is desirable. 

Compensation

Pay range: $37.02/hour - $43.27/hour
