What You’ll Do
As a Preschool Teacher at The Williams Preschool, you will create an environment where young children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. You’ll nurture their natural curiosity, encourage creativity, and help them build the friendships and confidence that support lifelong learning.
In this role, you will:
Create a joyful learning environment
Build a warm, welcoming classroom where every child feels seen, respected, and supported
Foster a culture of kindness, curiosity, and belonging
Design meaningful learning experiences
Plan playful, arts-rich activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and collaboration
Guide children through project-based investigations and real-world problem solving
Support early literacy, numeracy, and communication through developmentally appropriate, child-centered learning
Support social-emotional growth
Help children develop empathy, confidence, and self-regulation through conversation, modeling, and gentle guidance
Encourage cooperation, friendship, and problem-solving among peers
Encourage creativity and expression
Invite children to express themselves through visual arts, storytelling, music, dramatic play, and movement
Provide open-ended materials and learning provocations that inspire curiosity and sustained engagement
Care for children’s daily needs
Support children with meals, rest, hygiene, and comfort in a caring, respectful way
Partner with families
Observe and document children’s growth and share meaningful insights with families
Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and caregivers
Collaborate with colleagues
Work closely with fellow educators to reflect on teaching practices and co-create curriculum
Contribute to a collaborative, supportive teaching team
Maintain a healthy learning space
Keep the classroom organized, inviting, and safe for exploration

Requirements:
Experience working with young children in early childhood education
Deep understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
Ability to plan engaging, hands-on learning experiences
Strong communication, listening, and collaboration skills
A compassionate, flexible, and reflective teaching approach
Comfort with movement and play—willing to get messy, sing loudly, and follow a child’s lead
Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field
Certification from a nationally recognized early childhood organization
Familiarity with project and problem-based learning, emergent curriculum, and/or art and music approaches to learning
Background in art, music, storytelling, or creative movement is a plus
