Renbrook School (West Hartford, CT), an independent day school for children age three to grade eight, seeks an experienced educator to teach middle school mathematics (Pre-Algebra and Algebra I) and serve as an Advisor for the 2026-2027 school year. This position reports to the Head of the Upper School (Grades 5-8).

The successful candidate will possess the following experiences and qualifications:
A master's degree (preferred) or bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field.
Experience teaching middle school-age children, particularly in an independent, day, college preparatory, or similar school setting.
A love and enthusiasm for teaching middle school mathematics.
A willingness to teach Algebra II and Geometry if the need arose.
A strong understanding of child development and the unique needs of middle school students.
Skill in differentiating instruction and supporting learners with a range of abilities and backgrounds; familiarity with standards-based grading or inquiry-based math instruction.
A proven record of positive and constructive peer-to-peer collaboration.
Skills, talents, and flexibility for contributing to an independent school community in additional capacities like coaching sports, leading homeroom, advising extracurricular activities, etc.
Proven history of building positive relationships with and among students, parents, and faculty.
