First United Methodist Preschool of Santa Monica is seeking a Preschool Co-Director to effectively operate and manage all aspects of the licensed preschool.  Co-Director will work alongside the current Co-Director, responsible for ensuring quality care and education for children; incorporating active continuous improvement in program quality; delivering exemplary and consistent communication with staff and community; and ensuring licensing and legal compliance at all times.

• Seeking an experienced and creative leader in child development with strong daily operation skills, ensuring each child receives the highest quality of care and education
• Recruit, hire, and retain qualified staff and actively lead staff to effectively accomplish classroom targets, objectives, and goals
• Develop and manage curricula and lesson plans that support early learning and child development
• Maintain strong communication with parents, community, and church leadership
• Partner with local schools for collaboration to implement curriculum standards that result in students who are well prepared for kindergarten
• Ensure orientation and training plan is received by teachers and other staff for job-critical knowledge and education
• Models and imbeds preschool and church values into all operations, i.e., communication, fundraisers, staff development, and outreach opportunities
• Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws and licensing, as well as preschool and church policies and procedures

• Meets California Licensing qualifications for Preschool Director
• School administration experience desired
• Budget and financial management experience desired
• NAEYC program experience a plus
• Excellent communicator with ability to problem-solve, multi-task, lead, develop, and mentor
• Ability to sustain a high level of energy and excel in a continuously changing environment
• Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
• Computer skills – general level (Word, Excel Google)
• Safe Sanctuary certified prior to start
• Child Abuse Mandated Reporter certification required prior to start
• Full-Time 40 hours per week.  Pay range: $75,000 - $85,000/yr
