DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Commitment to CCRI?s Mission:
Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college.
Work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive, and student-centered environment, with students of various learning styles, cultures, identities, and life-experiences.
Instructional Skills:
Plan, develop, and deliver courses, including course proposal and syllabus development, instruction (in-person, hybrid, and online), assessment, and evaluation.
Teach assigned Human Services (HMNS) Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses in both a grant-funded Bilingual Early Childhood Education Certificate program and the College?s general academic offerings.
Design and implement competency-based curriculum using a variety of instructional modalities, including online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats.
Demonstrate the ability to effectively teach and support ECE paraprofessionals currently working in the field, incorporating relevant, practice-based approaches.
Maintain flexibility and availability to offer courses during evening hours and Saturdays to meet the needs of working students.
Collaborate with program support staff and facilitators to provide wraparound services that support students throughout their educational journey and promote success in bilingual ECE coursework.
Partner with Providence Public School District staff to align program goals and coordinate student support services.
Communicate course content and expectations clearly, demonstrating strong organizational, interpersonal, and instructional skills.
Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in the field of Early Childhood Education and effective teaching practices.
Utilize instructional technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement.
Assess student learning in alignment with established course outcomes and best practices.
Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and a collaborative approach in working with diverse student populations and colleagues, in both English and Spanish.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master?s degree in early childhood education and child development
Experience teaching or training adult learners, preferably at the college or workforce development level.
Ability to teach in both English and Spanish (for bilingual programs).
Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse student populations, including multilingual learners and nontraditional students.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with instructional technologies and learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard).
Availability to teach during evening hours and/or Saturdays.
