Sundale Union Elementary School District is a highly regarded single-school district
located in Tulare, the heart of California’s Central Valley. Serving 850 students in grades
TK–8, Sundale is known for its strong academic program, close-knit community, and
whole child development program utilizing outstanding hands-on learning opportunities
program that connects students to real-world learning experiences that develop
character and belonging. Together, the Sundale School District and Sundale Foundation
partner to support our youngest learners and school-age students alike with high-quality

Position Overview

The Board of Trustees seeks a collaborative, student-focused, and visionary leader to
serve as Superintendent. The Superintendent will lead a dedicated staff, engage an
involved community, and build upon the District’s tradition of excellence while preparing
students for future success. The ideal candidate will have a strong appreciation for
agriculture, performing and fine arts, college and career awareness, and sports
programs.

Desired Qualifications and Experiences

• Valid California Administrative Services Credential
• Successful experience in a teaching environment, as well as in an administrative
  role at the school or district level.
• Demonstrates an understanding and ability to oversee the District finances and
  human resources.
• Knowledge of special education programs and diverse student learning needs.
• Demonstrates courage in making difficult decisions while maintaining respect and
  collaboration.
• Demonstrate knowledge of curriculum, instruction, intervention, assessment and
  instruction improvement.
• Understanding District Operations including maintenance, transportation,
  nutrition services, technology and student support programs.
• Knowledge of California school finance, LCFF and LCAP processes and
  Educational laws and policies.
