The Langley School, a PS-8 independent school in McLean, Virginia, seeks a Leopard Cubs Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Leopard Cubs child development program provides children (ages six weeks to three years) of Langley faculty and staff and our partner schools with a safe and nurturing educational experience. Guided by the Creative Curriculum, Leopard Cubs teachers effectively address the needs of young children in a school setting by providing developmentally appropriate care and instruction. Teachers in this program are expected to display a kind and gentle demeanor, patience, and a creative approach to engaging with our youngest learners. Responsibilities include attending to feeding, diapering, and developmental needs, organizing recreational activities, and maintaining a safe, orderly environment in accordance with Virginia licensing standards. Additionally, Leopard Cubs teachers maintain effective care through strong communication with parents, providing regular feedback on developmental milestones and conducting parent-teacher conferences twice a year.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (CDA Credential preferred); at least three years of experience working in a school environment or early childhood setting; strong knowledge of principles and methods for teaching and caring for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years; excellent active listening, social perceptiveness, and communication skills; and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and push up to 50 pounds, frequent bending and squatting, and the ability to be outdoors for at least two hours daily. This position involves a rotating shift between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm.
