Are you a dynamic leader who believes athletics are a powerful extension of education? At The Meadows School, athletics are an essential part of developing confident, resilient, and principled students. The Meadows School is known for its commitment to high standards, community values, and whole child development. Our athletics program emphasizes sportsmanship, character, and competitive excellence, preparing student-athletes for success on and off the field.
Founded in 1984, The Meadows School is Nevada’s premier non-sectarian, college preparatory institution, serving over 1,000 students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Nestled on a beautiful, college-like 40-acre campus in the Summerlin community of Las Vegas, the school provides an unparalleled educational experience rooted in the pursuit of excellence - our guiding principle that shapes both our mission and our daily work. As we expand thoughtfully, The Meadows School remains dedicated to fostering an environment where curiosity, creativity, and character thrive.
What You'll Do:
In this dual leadership role, you will contribute strategically to the overall athletics program while directly leading the football program. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Athletics, school leadership, coaches, faculty, and families to ensure a positive and mission-aligned athletics experience:
Inspire and Educate: Play an active role in shaping a high quality coaching staff by supporting the hiring, mentoring, and evaluation of coaches across the athletics program. As a visible leader and role model, you will set clear expectations for coaching excellence and reinforce shared standards around sportsmanship, professionalism, and ethical leadership. Through clear guidance, timely feedback, and a consistent, student-centered approach, you will help coaches prioritize athlete development, well-being, and character alongside competitive success
Foster Growth: Create and sustain an environment that values continuous improvement, accountability, and reflection for both student athletes and coaches. Through thoughtful leadership and high expectations, you will encourage confidence, resilience, and leadership, helping individuals view challenges as opportunities for growth. You will consistently center student well-being in decision making to ensure athletics supports personal development, academic success, and a lifelong appreciation for teamwork and healthy competition
Set Clear Goals: Establish and communicate clear, consistent expectations for coaches, teams, and student athletes that align with the mission and values of the school. You will define meaningful short- and long-term goals, articulate what success looks like on and off the field, and use regular check-ins and feedback to ensure progress remains measurable, achievable, and focused on growth and accountability
Build Community: Serve as a leader who understands athletics as a powerful driver of school culture and connection. You will actively strengthen school spirit and community engagement by fostering positive, inclusive athletic experiences and communicating clearly and professionally with families, students, and colleagues. Collaboration is central to this role - you will work closely with faculty and staff to support student athletes holistically and ensure academic and athletic commitments are balanced with care and intention
Engage in Professional Excellence: Partner closely with the Director of Athletics to support the effective operation of the athletics department. From coordinating schedules, facilities, and transportation to overseeing game day logistics, you will help ensure programs run smoothly and align with school, league, and conference expectations, contributing to a well organized and mission driven athletics program
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate is a dynamic and student centered athletics leader who sees coaching and administration as an extension of education. The ideal candidate is a mentor and role model - someone who builds trust, sets high expectations, and leads with integrity. As a visible and engaged presence on campus, you will be actively involved at athletic events and contribute meaningfully to the broader life of the school community, modeling professionalism, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to student growth both on and off the field:
Bachelor’s degree
Prior experience as a Head Football Coach, preferably at the Middle School or High School level
Experience in athletic administration or demonstrated readiness for leadership responsibilities
Strong knowledge of football strategy, player development, and program building
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to mentor coaches and connect effectively with student athletes
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Valid coaching certifications as required by state or league
