Position Overview: The Red Oaks School, a Pre K-8, independent school in Morristown, NJ, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Classroom Teacher for a Montessori classroom (ages 3-6). This individual will co-teach and collaborate in establishing a nurturing, safe, and organized environment for young children. Key responsibilities include instructing students, planning and implementing lessons, communicating with families, supervising students, and other professional responsibilities such as progress reporting and attending school meetings and events.

Key Responsibilities:
Create a nurturing, stimulating environment that supports each child's growth and development.
Implement the Montessori curriculum, including preparing and maintaining a Montessori classroom environment that adapts to students’ abilities and needs throughout the school year.
Plan and lead engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that promote independence, self-confidence, and a love of learning.
Observe and assess each child's progress, providing individualized support as needed.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on their child's development and progress.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
Participate in professional development opportunities to continue learning and growing as an educator.
Fulfill professional duties, which include, but are not limited to, attending special events, writing communications and progress reports, speaking with potential families, and conducting procedures.
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
Montessori Early Childhood (3-6) Certification, from an AMS-accredited training center preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Previous experience working with children aged 3-6 in a Montessori setting.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and other staff members.
Demonstrated capacity to learn and grow throughout one's career.
Strong understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
