Position Summary
Brookwood seeks an outstanding teacher with a deep knowledge of early child development (ages 3-5) and best practices for teaching young children, exceptional collaborative skills, and an infectious sense of fun. Dedicated to graduatingstudents with cultural competency, Brookwood actively pursues candidates with astrong focus on multiculturalism, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood development and tools to guide young children through a successful school day. Ideal candidates will also have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The candidate will put students’ needs at the center of decision making, will be a self-reflective educator who models a growth mindset, and will be an inspiration to and collaborator with a high-performing faculty.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in related field
3-5 years of experience working with young children ages three to five - Commitment to culturally competent teaching practices andsocial/emotional learning
Preferred Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education licensure
Specific Responsibilities:
Design and implement an age-appropriate, play-based curriculum andactivities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physicaldevelopment for children ages 3-5
Help children learn routines and expectations within the classroom andduring outdoor activities.
Plan and facilitate whole group, small group, and 1:1 instruction- Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues about the social,emotional, and academic qualities of students.
Write bi-yearly narrative reports for each student updating families onstudent progress
Write daily newsletters home
Conduct parent teacher conferences twice a year
Engage in professional development to advance diversity, equity, andinclusion goals at Brookwood.
