Founded in 1966 and situated on over two beautiful acres, West Hill was built especially for young children. At West Hill, talented and dedicated staff, enthusiastic children, involved parents/guardians, and a supportive community join forces to create a positive, innovative environment where children engage in joyful learning. We are seeking a warm, experienced, and dedicated Head Teacher to lead a preschool classroom serving children ages 2 years 7 months to 3 years. This collaborative role is in a school setting— not a daycare—and focuses on early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices, grounded in a commitment to high standards and continuous improvement. Responsibilities: • Lead a nurturing, engaging classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and language development of young children • Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities • Partner closely with the other teacher to support a class of 14 children • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues • Observe and assess student progress, maintaining clear and thoughtful communication with parents • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment   Qualifications: • Experience working with young children (ages 2–3) in an educational setting. • Strong understanding of child development and of developmentally appropriate practices • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Ability to create a warm, caring, supportive, engaging, and structured classroom environment • Minimum of B.Ed. A degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred. Salary is (8:15 - 12:15 daily) a year based on experience and degrees. Additional opportunities for longer days may be available.
