Position Overview
The Lower School Division Head is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day functioning of the Lower School (PK–5). This role ensures a positive learning environment for students, supports and develops faculty, partners with families, and collaborates closely with the school’s senior leadership team.

Ensure alignment between the school’s mission, values, and all Lower School programming.
Collaborate with the senior leadership team and help guide strategic initiatives for the school.
Oversee daily operations of the division, including classroom teachers, specialists, learning skills teachers, and academic aids.
Lead ongoing curriculum development efforts and instructional practices in partnership with the Director of Academic and Experiential Programs.
Monitor all students’ social-emotional development, academic progress, and overall well-being, proactively communicating regularly with families regarding student experience.
Oversee all learning accommodation plans and support students presenting with neurotypical learning profiles; serve as the primary point of contact for families and coordinate proactive, student-centered support among teachers, counselors, and external providers.
Work closely with the Director of Counseling and Student Life to support student needs and partner effectively with teachers and families.
Oversee and work closely with the Auxiliary Program Coordinator to support auxiliary programming, such as after care, early release, no school days, and summer camp.
Act as the Director of the ECC Pre-Kindergarten and After School programs, ensuring the licensing process is timely and successful on an annual basis.
Lead regular faculty division meetings and foster thoughtful dialogue about teaching, learning, and child development.
Be a visible presence in all areas of the school, work toward a resolution of all problems - both routine and unique - as they arise, and keep the Head of School informed of the general programs, activities, and problems of the school.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
