Maret seeks a skilled and dedicated co-kindergarten teacher to inspire students to learn, take risks, and think creatively. As co-teachers, kindergarten homeroom teachers work to teach language arts, math, and social studies to a class of 20 students. As grade-level partners, they work closely together to implement a dynamic curriculum and program using best practices. In collaboration with resource teachers, homeroom teachers are expected to oversee the academic, social, and emotional life of each of their students. A commitment to academic excellence and a love for discovery and exploration are essential to this role.

Full-time positions include community responsibilities to support lower school initiatives. The kindergarten co-homeroom teachers report to the director of Lower School.

The successful candidate will have:

• Knowledge of child development and a passion for teaching
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Experience differentiating instruction to support all learners
• Strong writing/communication skills and proficiency in technology
• The ability to foster meaningful connections with/among students and with parents/guardians
• A willingness to commit to professional development and collaboration with colleagues across grades and disciplines
• A minimum of three years relevant classroom teaching
• Training in the Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop and familiarity with Everyday Math (preferred)
• A master’s degree (preferred)

Competitive salary and benefits. Salary range is $71,000-$122,000, depending on years of teaching experience and qualifications.
