The Associated Students of California State University, Chico is recruiting for a Wellness Center Program Coordinator. This is a full-time, full-year (2080 hours), non-exempt position. The starting pay range is $23.50 - $27.00/hr; placement in range is dependent upon experience with new hires typically starting at the beginning of the range. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm. This position, on occasion, may require early morning, evening, or weekend hours. The schedule is subject to change based on operational needs.
The Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU,Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises. With an annual budget of more than $21M, the AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union, the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC), and administers the contract for the Wildcat Store (bookstore). Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Recycling, Sustainability and student government. Typically, the AS employs more than 100 full and part-time employees and more than 400 students.

WELLNESS CENTER PROGRAM COORDINATOR
SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Wellness Program Director, this position is responsible for assisting with the daily operations and programs of the Associated Students’ wellness center (The Well @ Bell Memorial Union). The center is designed as a space for students to practice proactive self-care through a variety of methods including drop in self-serve opportunities, special event programs, and group workshops with peer and campus facilitators. The position is responsible for assisting with a breadth of program offerings in line with current students’ needs. This position oversees the progress of these programs and the campus relationships required to facilitate them. In addition, this position supervises student employees who are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist in the design, implementation, and supervision of a broad range of wellness programs and services, including:
o Workshops
o Group exercise classes
o Non-credit instructional programs
o Drop-in/self-service wellness offerings
o Peer-led individual and group sessions
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student employees, interns, and volunteers.
Support front desk operations, including management software.
Coordinate access and entry logistics for all of The Well’s activities.
Assist with coordinating and facilitating collaborative wellness programs with campus departments and external partners.
Assist AS Marketing and Design with promotion of all wellness events and programs.
Report and coordinate facility maintenance and custodial needs.
Research, purchase, maintain, and manage all relevant equipment and supplies.
Assist in the development and monitoring of the Wellness Center operating budget.
Create and implement program assessment tools to measure quality, satisfaction, academic persistence, GPA impact, and related outcomes.
Support risk management efforts by ensuring participants receive safety information and complete liability waivers.
Implement a comprehensive safety training program, including staff training, injury/accident reporting, and risk assessments.
Campus Security Authority (CSA): This position is designated as a CSA under the Clery Act and must comply with all related training and reporting requirements (training will be provided).
Other duties may be assigned.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment with prolonged periods of work on a computer and regular contact with others. Participation in various activities, events, meetings and/or retreats on or off campus which may include evenings and/or weekends as required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; verbal and written communication. Periodically move equipment up to 30lbs. Ability to move throughout and between different departments and facilities in the organization.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Position may travel annually to conferences in/out of state. Local travel for trainings and work-related errands is also possible.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of the practices, procedures, and operations of a health and wellness center.
General understanding of organizational and program management, including group process training and development.
Experience managing critical situations, including but not limited to mandated reporting.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn and navigate various software systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas and directions to students, faculty, and staff and subordinates.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide individuals and teams and oversee the work of others.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently on multiple projects without close supervision.
Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and prepare clear, concise reports.
Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with campus departments, vendors, and community partners.
Cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with diverse and multicultural populations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two (2) years full-time or part-time equivalent professional-level management experience including one (1) year of supervising others.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in health and wellness, health education, public health, social work, social sciences, or related field.
Two (2) years of experience in wellness management, program development, staff training and supervision, ideally in a campus setting.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. Associated Students will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals any disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
