Elementary Teacher Grade 4
The Elisabeth Morrow School, a leader in education from early childhood through middle school, seeks to fill one elementary teacher position in fourth grade for the 2025-2026 school year.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with grade-level colleagues and lower school teams, have in-depth knowledge and understanding of elementary education and child development, and support the educational program by challenging and engaging students.
Ideally, the candidate would be familiar with Math in Focus, the Science of Reading, Responsive Classroom, and Project-Based Learning. They would also have experience differentiating lessons and providing an atmosphere where children feel safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
The work hours are 7:45 a.m.– 4:45 p.m. Monday (afternoons are for professional development and faculty meetings) and 7:45 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Tuesday–Friday. Occasional attendance may be required at school-related functions that take place outside of these regular hours.
This position reports to the Head of Little School.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Create, plan, and execute literacy, math, social studies, and SEL curricula based on grade-level expectations, best practices, and agreed-upon content and resources
Communicate with faculty, staff, students, and families in a considerate, compassionate, courteous, and cooperative manner
Embrace our core values of the 4 C’s, courtesy, cooperation, consideration, and compassion
Have strong classroom management skills
Attend Monday PD opportunities and meetings through their closing at 4:45 pm
Be available for curricular and community evening events
Assess and report on student development and academic progress
Prepare written reports and hold family conferences, both formal and informal, as needed
Be flexible in structuring the school day to meet the needs of our students, including club opportunities and time with students outside of the school schedules.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred.
Eager to learn and flexible in their thinking.
Excellent interpersonal skills; collaborative and interested in contributing to conversations.
Mature and responsible attitude towards work.
Develop a positive and joyful classroom environment that engages and motivates students to achieve their potential.
Possess a personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Knowledge of responsive classroom and restorative practice preferred.
