Description of Work:
Nebraska Public Media, Nebraska's NPR and PBS Stations, is seeking a K-12 Education Specialist who, with direction, will collaborate with K-12 education experts and K-12 educators across the state of Nebraska to identify best practices, build curriculum, and discover other relevant areas to create, package and/or repurpose content to support educators, community organizations, and children and families to positively impact K-12 education. On a scheduled basis, will work with school districts, libraries, and community organizations to design and deliver learning events built around PBS, NPR, AAPB, and Nebraska Public Media resources.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field plus two (2) years working in an educational environment with emphasis in child and family engagement; equivalent education/experience considered.
Knowledge of principles, theories, practices, methods and techniques used in child development and K-12 education/learning.
Knowledge of current technologies and trends in K-12 education.
Familiarity with the use of technology and media in learning environments.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with children and adults from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Familiarity with public and/or private media organizations.
Understanding of PBS resources and target audiences.
Ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree with emphasis in K-12 education or child development.
