Texas A&M University â“ San Antonio (TAMU-SA) seeks a dynamic leader to establish a collaborative and community-based research institute at Texas A&M University San Antonio. This is a full-time position at the rank of Professor. The Professor of Early Childhood position includes teaching, research and service with a workload that emphasizes research and mentoring emerging researchers. The position will also be contributing actively to decisions affecting the Department of Educator Leadership and Preparation, as well as the College of Education and Human Development. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation.

Required Education and Experience:

• Successful candidates will have an earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the field of early childhood education or a closely related discipline;

• Distinguished scholarly accomplishments;

• Experience supervising research and mentoring doctoral candidates; and

• Experience building collaborations with local communities and strengthening early education.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience engaging communities in the research process

• Bilingual and biliterate (Spanish)

• Research focusing on child development, early literacy or family engagement.

• Evidence of work leading to the transformation of early education practices or systems

• Experience leading diverse and interdisciplinary teams of professionals and/or stakeholders
