Position Summary
We are looking for a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator I to work in research laboratory focused on maternal mental health and its effects on prenatal and postnatal child development. Our laboratory combines many methods including phenotyping pregnant and postpartum women in relation to childhood adversity and stress based on racial and ethnic inequities, the embedding of stress experiences in maternal biology (e.g., hair cortisol), epigenetic regulation of genes (placenta methylation), and fetal and infant brain behavior development (fetal assessment, newborn MRI, maternal -infant videotaping). This position is based at Columbia University Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively within a large, engaged, interdisciplinary team, have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, be capable of meeting deadlines, be detail oriented, motivated, and interested in generating knowledge at the highest scientific level that can help change the lives of parents and children, especially those who are low-income and underserved.
There will be opportunities for scientific publications and other activities based on the type of contribution.
Responsibilities
1. Completion of GCP, HIPAA, and applicable regulatory training
2. Study Protocol Development and Documentation: IRB and Manual of Procedures
3. Study Implementation and Monitoring
4. Coordination of Recruitment
5. Monitoring Cross-Team Communications
6. Coordination of Study Meetings
7. Serve as lead coordinator and assist in training of staff
8. Development and Coordination of Quality Assurance
9. Study Reporting: Tracking and presenting targets and Milestones
10. Coordination of Data Management and Tracking
11. Coordination of Data Analyses: Liaison between study coordinators and investigators with data specialists
12. Organization of biospecimen collection and storage
13. Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor???s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience
- Experience in clinical research and/or patient care setting
- Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication, and organizational skills
- Phlebotomy Certificate (or training within 6 months)
Preferred Qualifications
Masters in developmental psychology, counseling, public health, statistics, neuroscience, or related field.
Spoken and written Spanish preferred
