Essential Functions: ?Responsible for assisting with homework, missing or incomplete day school assignments and leading tutoring sessions for the C2 Pipeline student group. Ensure communication plan with day school and C2 Pipeline is being followed. (Student planners, list serves, text messaging services)?Teach Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) and or Essential Enrichment Classes. ?Assist with distribution and supervision of meals; remain in cafeteria to supervise the C2 Pipeline student group.?Maintain a cooperative and effective working relationship with school district personnel, students, parents, community partners, etc.?Assist Site Coordinator in planning and implementing program launches, open houses, field trips, special exhibits and any performances.?Attend all training's as mandated by Michigan Department of Human Services Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing requirements.?Follow the Wayne State College of Nursing and WSU College of Nursing C2 Pipeline policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee/Staff Handbook.?Assist with the Michigan Department of Education and MSU 21st. CCLC surveys, data collection and deadlines.?Assist all visitors, parents, and students.?Assist in getting medical aid when necessary. Document any injuries following WSU and host school policies.?Assist with health care of students - witness dispensing of medicine. Document on medical log.?Perform follow-ups on absent students, daily. This may require making phone calls or sending letters. Document all attempts of contact.?Assist in maintaining policies and procedures regarding the discipline of students as well as writing referrals.?Observes and reports any suspicious items and/or activities immediately to Site Coordinator.?Assist with the David P. Weikart (YPQA) assessments and observations.?Assist Site Coordinator in program development and implementation.?Supervise assigned after-school site in the absence of the Site Coordinator. ?Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: oIn lieu of Bachelor's Degree Department the Health and Human Services Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers Rule 400.8122 will be followed to include; Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, Montessori Credential with 480 hours experience in a youth related program, valid CDA with 480 hours experience in a youth related program, high school diploma/GED With 12 semester hours in coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and 960 hours experience in youth related field, high school diploma/GED with a combination of 12 semester hours and or/18 CEU's to equal 180 clock hours and or 18 CEU'S to equal 180 clock hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or child-related field and 1,920 hours experience in a youth related field, high School Diploma/GED with a combination of 6 semester hours and/or 9 CEU's to equal 90 clock hours of coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or child-related field and 3,840 hours experience in a youth related field.?Experience with "At-Risk" youth preferred.?Experience and knowledge in STEM education preferred.?Must demonstrate a mature attitude in dealing with students, parents, school district staff and community partners.?Evidence of organization, supervisory and interpersonal skills for establishing good relationships with staff, teachers, parents and students.?Must be willing to participate in additional training and workshops as designated by the after school program.?Must be CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain certification prior to working with students.?Must secure Live Scan fingerprinting prior to working with students.?Must show proof of TB Skin Test Results, verified within one year of employment prior to working with students.?Must show evidence of Blood-borne Pathogen Training prior to working with students.?Must pass all background checks as mandated by Department of Human Services Daycare Licensing Guidelines and Wayne State Universities employment policies.?Must meet the guidelines of the Bureau of Children and Licensing Good Moral Character and Licensing Rules as well as 1973 PA 116 as amended and pertaining to Childcare Organizations.?Must be able to commit to assigned work schedule (Monday-Friday).
