POSITION OVERVIEW Position Title: Commercially and Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC): Part-Time UNEX Instructor Salary Range: A reasonable estimate for this position is $600 per unit. Anticipated Start: Fall 2024 Location: In-person (Riverside, Palm Desert and Blythe)
POSITION DESCRIPTION University Extension is seeking experienced professionals to join our instructional team as part-time instructors for adult learners. Successful candidates for this continuous recruitment will be eligible to teach courses as they are scheduled during the year for our Professional Certificate. This program is designed to raise awareness of human trafficking as it relates to children. Courses are delivered in-person at UCR Palm Desert, UCR University Extension campus and Blythe.
Courses Include:
Introduction to Commercially and Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC)
Warning Signs and Trauma
Traffickers and Social Media
Statistics, State and Local Resources
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide instruction in accordance with the established instructional agreement, curriculum outlines, and class schedule provided by University Extension.
Teach established curriculum on human trafficking approved by the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services.
Facilitate educational workshops to potential victims of human trafficking and/or at-risk populations about the services available in the community.
Work in conjunction with collaborative partners and subject matter experts in order to ensure that training information and statistics are current.
Communicate teaching objectives and specific learning outcomes to students, and clearly outline the grading policies of the course.
Work in conjunction with collaborative partners and subject matter experts to ensure that course information is current.
Participate in scheduled orientations, meetings, and mandatory training programs by UCR's established deadlines.
Maintain timely and accurate academic records within the learning management system, and submit timely and accurate documentation as well as student grades as outlined in the instructional agreement.
Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct.
Become familiar with and follow UCR Extension's Instructor Manual and Curricular Guidelines.
Respond to student questions and learning needs in a timely manner.
Remain current regarding the professional body of knowledge in the field of practice.
Complete required administrative required administrative tasks in a timely manner including: completing all hiring paperwork; submitting updated syllabi; signing instructor contract; submitting required textbook orders; communicating audio visual and classroom needs.
Employ culturally competent teaching methodologies in the classroom.
REQUIREMENTS Minimum Requirements
Advanced degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or Child Development.
Five years of related work experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to provide instruction in-person.
Commitment to diversity and the University's mission.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Experience with Canvas learning platform.
Experience teaching adult learners.
Experience with curriculum development and course design.
Ability to teach a wide range of courses in field of expertise.
