In a partnership between North Carolina A&T State University and The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, the NextGen Post-Doctoral Fellow will conduct research in support of the N.C. A&T Aggie Academy and the Center of Excellence for Educational Equity Research in the areas of Leadership in Education and Educator Preparation. The post-doctoral fellow will also participate in teaching and mentoring graduate students.
The mission of the forthcoming Center of Excellence for Educational Equity Research is to advance research to inform educational policies and practices for greater equity in K-12 and Higher Education contexts. The Center research and professional learning programming will also inform teaching, leadership, and counseling practices to create anti-racist and culturally sustaining learning environments for all learners.

A&T Aggie Academy is committed to culturally responsive and sustainable teaching and learning practices; holistic child development through building social-emotional learning (SEL) skills and restorative practices; developing critical and creative thinking skills through integrative STEAM curriculum and inquiry based and experiential learning opportunities; and intentional and purposeful family and community engagement.

The College of Education comprises three departments: the Department of Counseling, the Department of Leadership Studies and Adult Education, and the Department of Educator Preparation. The Department of Educator Preparation's programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The Department of Counseling's programs are accredited by the Council Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
The Department of Leadership Studies and Adult Education comprises three programs: The Master of Science in Adult Education, the Master of School Administration, and the Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies. The department prepares students to be transformative leaders who use the tenants of equity, access, and advocacy in their leadership practices.
Established in 1891, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (A&T) is a public, historically black, land-grant institution located in Greensboro, North Carolina. North Carolina A&T and other 1890 land-grant institutions were established by the Second Morrill Act, which expanded the system of land-grant universities to include a historically Black institution in those states where segregation denied people of color access to the land grant institutions established by the First Morrill Act in 1862.
