Performs research and writes manuscripts quantifying and testing validity and utility of state-of-the-art EEG measures (e.g. microstate analysis, functional connectivity, phase-amplitude dynamics) over infant/toddler development to understand the changing brain and how it relates to environmental influences and emerging executive function skills/early cognition. Contributes to the lab's ongoing efforts to improve replicable, robust signal processing for EEG data via our open-source HAPPE software. Helps meet the goals and needs of the Wellcome LEAP 1Kd award to study how the early environment and brain development together shape early executive function skills over the first 3 years of life. May exercise functional supervision over supporting research staff.
Must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, engineering, computer science, or related field; be able to undertake substantially full-time research or scholarship; work under the supervision of a senior scholar. Knowledge and experience with EEG required. Strong computational skills and programming experience (e.g. some combination of MATLAB, R, Python) required.
