The University of Minnesota, Department of Pediatrics, seeks a candidate for a full-time position as an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Division of Clinical Behavioral Neuroscience. Candidate must be a board certified/eligible Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics physician.
Position Highlights:
- Provide primary and consultative service through daily outpatient clinics and inpatient consultant for children and adolescents in the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital
- Services are provided across the pediatric and adolescent age groups for children including developmental disabilities, adjustment and coping with chronic illness, learning and attention disorders, enuresis and encopresis, pain, psychological disorders, habit problems, anxiety and stress management
- The research program includes studies of self-regulation (self hypnosis) in children, uses of biofeedback and hypnosis in management of anxiety disorders, and effective management strategies for a variety of psychophysiologic and behavioral problems
- The teaching program involves care for children with autism, attention and learning disorders, and a range of developmental and behavioral disorders
About the Program:
The University serves as a referral center for children with emotional and behavioral problems including anxiety, sleep disturbance, elimination disorder, disciplinary and school problems and adjustment to trauma, grief loss and chronic illness. DPB faculty are also engaged in public policy regarding early childhood, school bullying and workforce issues
The candidate will have a variety of world-class research opportunities. Active research in our division includes pediatric self-regulation and children with chronic health conditions, healthy youth development and personalized prevention in children;s mental health. We also have strong cross-disciplinary teachng and research collaborations with the Unviersity of Minnesota Institute of Child Development, the School of Public Health and MCHB funded LEND and LEAH programs.

The mission of the Department of Pediatrics is to generate knowledge through research, to apply this new knowledge to the highest quality health care for the prevention and treatment of illness in children, and to provide the best possible education of the next generation of medical students, physicians and other health professionals in childhood disease prevention, treatment, research and advocacy. Through this mission the Department seeks to improve the lives of children in our community, nation and the world.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and/or General Pediatrics residency and/or fellowship-training program.
- Board eligible/certified with the Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and/or General Pediatrics
- Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
- Previous involvement in research.
