General Job Description: St. Anne's Episcopal School seeks a qualified and motivated individual to serve as a lead Kindergarten teacher. In collaboration with the Kindergarten team, the Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for inspiring and engaging young learners, differentiating instruction and supporting student academic and social-emotional development and growth. Successful candidates must have a strong understanding of child development, value collaboration and communication with parents/guardians, and demonstrate commitment to best inquiry-based learning practices including project-based learning.
Kindergarten Lead Teacher position includes teaching core subjects (Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies), communicating and collaborating effectively and frequently with families and colleagues, and partnering effectively with all stakeholders in the school community to enhance the students’ learning experience and promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Primary Responsibilities:
Candidates will embrace the school’s mission as well as educational and discipline philosophies; candidates must be willing to work in a team environment and be positive, inspirational, and family-centered.
Instruct students in citizenship and character development.
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide differentiated and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and align with the diversity and inclusion mission.
Use a variety of instructional strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, and discovery to facilitate higher-level thinking.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional and respectful attitude.
Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day such as recess, lunch, or traveling to specials.
Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports and report cards.
Communicate with parents through conferences, phone calls, and e-mail to discuss students’ progress and interpret the school program.
Identify student needs and collaborate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
Maintain and modify pacing schedules as part of the curriculum mapping.
Participate in grade level, divisional, and full faculty meetings and serve on faculty committees.
Attend divisional and school-wide required events (i.e. open houses, BTSN night).

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited university
At least 1 -2 years prior classroom experience.
