The WKUCCC Head Start/Child Care Director plans and directs the daily operation of WKUCCC. WKUCCC includes a preschool Head Start, an Early Head Start and a child care program. The Director is responsible for ensuring that WKUCCC follows the required Federal, state, local and WKU standards and policies. The Director will manage and oversee the program which is a Head Start grantee, with two delegate agencies, and is an Early Head Start delegate. Over-site of the program includes supervising staff, regular on-going monitoring of the program, and monitoring of the delegate agencies.
The WKUCCC Director will be responsible for, but not limited to the following respsonsibilities:
Carrying out the day- to- day administration and supervision of WKUCCC grantee and oversee the delegates;
Completing required reports for various funding agencies;
Hiring, supervising and evaluating staff;
Developing, executing, and monitoring all contracts with assistance of the fiscal manager.
Serving as an advocate for the Head Start/EHS/Child Care program
Assessing program needs, coordinating self and community assessments and developing continuous improvement plans.
Coordinates and assists staff in the implementation of services impacting children and families.
Act as liaison between community agencies and WKU CCC.
Develop referral systems and procedures between Head Start/EHS and community organizations.
Provide regular reports to immediate supervisor regarding the programmatic achievement of goals.
Job Requirements:
Education- A minimum of a baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood, Human Resources, Social Work, Health or a related degree (for ex. Elementary Education)
Experience- Experience in designing and managing Head Start, Early Head Start or other child development programs required. Must have experience in supervision of staff, fiscal management and administration. Must have additional experience in personnel administration and budget development.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities- Good communication skills (both oral and written) and record-keeping skills are required. Must be able to coordinate and monitor health, education, family services, disabilities, and nutrition services through appropriate staff.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $60,000 - $74,000
