The Assistant Lead Infant-Toddler Teacher works as a member of the Infant-Toddler Room teaching team with an Associate Lead Teacher. The Assistant Lead Teacher works cooperatively with the other classroom teachers to plan and support the implementation of a model infant program. The Assistant Lead Teacher acts as a model for classroom aides and practicum students: teaching appropriate skills and techniques by example.
This position is for the academic year which is a nine month term of service, September to June. Some part time work may be available during summer term.
Minimum Qualifications:
AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent. One full year of continuous teaching experience with infants and toddlers in an early childhood center.
Teachers must :
maintain continuous enrollment in the Office of Child Care Central Background Registry;
be current with Infant-Child First Aid/CPR;
have a current Oregon Food Handler's card;
be trained in and know the state laws regarding reporting suspected child abuse.
Preferred Qualifications:
BA or BA in progress in ECE, Child Development, Child, Youth and Family Studies is strongly preferred.
Knowledge and experience with RIE and Reggio-inspired teaching practices.
