Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1921, is an independent coeducational school,
serving almost 600 students from age 2 to Grade 8 on two campuses. The Lower School, in
West Palm Beach, serves ages 2 yrs. through 3rd Grade. The Upper School, located on the
island of Palm Beach, serves 4th through 8th Grades. The Upper School is currently seeking a
3rd Grade Teacher for the 2026-27 School Year. Applicants should enjoy working in a
collaborative, student-centered environment and be skilled in providing differentiated
instruction to promote student academic, social, and emotional growth.
In addition, a successful candidate will:
- Be motivated and enthusiastic, organized, and attentive to detail
- Possess excellent classroom management skills
- Be comfortable collaborating across departmental disciplines
- Advise students and communicates with families, including writing reports and leading conferences
- Possess in-depth knowledge of child development and progressive education
- Provide examples of innovative pedagogy to promote inquiry and learning in adolescents and evidence of capable writing
- Command a range of teaching methods to meet different learning needs
- Integrate technology into classroom teaching
- Be a self-starter, take initiative, have a sense of humor, and demonstrate strong listening and communication skills
- Be willing to contribute to school community in meaningful ways
- Be prepared to perform other duties as assigned
Selection Criteria:
- A bachelor’s degree in elementary education
- Masters degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience as an elementary classroom teacher
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
