Position Overview: The Director of Residential Life will oversee all aspects of the boarding program, ensuring it reflects Currey Ingram Academy's mission and values. The ideal candidate will create a safe, inclusive, and structured environment that supports students’ personal growth and academic success. Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership and Administration
Oversee the day-to-day operations, including staffing, scheduling, and compliance with school policies and regulations.
Develop and implement a comprehensive residential life curriculum addressing academic, social-emotional, and life skills.
Manage the budget and facilities to maintain a high standard of living and learning.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to ensure seamless academic and residential life integration.
Lead the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of residential life staff.
Serve as the primary point of contact for families of Residential Life students, maintaining regular communication and fostering strong relationships.
Maintain a safe and secure residential environment by enforcing school rules and policies.
Coordinate with health services to address Residential Life students' physical and medical needs.
Respond effectively to emergencies and ensure proper documentation and communication.
Student Support & Programming
Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and community in the boarding program.
Create a structure for study hours and ensure students have access to academic resources and accommodations.
Collaborate with the Upper School to monitor and support academic progress.
Facilitate student growth in executive functioning areas, including, but not limited to, time management, study strategies, and goal setting.
Act as a mentor and trusted adult for Residential Life students.
Partner with the counseling team to address students’ mental health and wellness.
Coordinate extracurricular activities, weekend programming, and service-learning opportunities for Residential Life students and staff.
Ensure students are prepared for independent living for a smooth transition post-high school.
A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in residential life, boarding schools, or similar settings.
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for working with students in a residential setting and commitment to their holistic development.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Compensation: 12-month salary, $90,00 - $100,000 based on experience
