Position Information: UC Riverside's Center for Early Childhood Education is recruiting for a multiple, limited appointment Classroom Assistants. *This job posting is for part-time Limited positions, which may not exceed 1,000 working hours in a 12-month consecutive period. Hours will vary or rotate based on classroom needs.* The full salary range for the Classroom Assistant is $21.24 - $24.32 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Under the general supervision of the Center for Early Childhood Education (CECE) Executive Director, Site Supervisor, and the close supervision of the classroom Lead Teacher, the Classroom Assistant will provide assistance to ensure the smooth function of daily routines, implementation of the early care and education programs, and ensure compliance with mandated adult:child ratios. Works as part of the Early Childhood Services teaching team.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Requirements: Educational Requirements
6 units of Early Childhood Education. Required
Associate's degree in early childhood education. Preferred
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 1 year experience working in a licensed child development center. Required
Associate Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Preferred
Special Conditions Special
Must successfully pass a DOJ/FBI fingerprint ('LiveScan') background check prior to appointment start date, per Title 22. Required
Negative TB test and background check clearance required prior to start. Required
Overtime Required
Must be 18 years of age, a high school graduate, or be currently participating in an occupational program at high school. Required
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge of appropriate health and safety standards for toileting, food handling and hand washing.
Knowledge of National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Developmentally Appropriate Practices.
Knowledge of current philosophies and research in early care and education, Pre-K Guidelines, and Early Literacy.
Skill to communicate effectively with children, staff and parents.
Skill to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Skills to take direction in meeting children's needs, classroom needs and parent needs.
Physical ability to lift and carry children up to 30 pounds, frequently and as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to perform CPR/First Aid on children who have been injured and may be unable to stand up and/or walk.
