Position Information:UC Riverside's Center for Early Childhood Education is recruiting for the Associate Program Director. The full salary range for the Associate Program Director is $66,500 - $118,30 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $79,450 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Under the strategic leadership of the Executive Director, the Associate Program Director assists the Program Director in ensuring the safe, and effective operations of the early education programs in alignment with CECE's mission, values, goals, professional best practices, and University Stewardship. The Associate Program Director is part of the management team and provides direction and guidance to Classroom Assistants and student assistants/interns, and temporary staff. Is responsible for helping create a welcoming, healthy, and supportive learning environment for parents and children along with modeling and reinforcing a high performing culture where staff can do their best work. Manages the centers daily staffing and operations with a clear understanding of all licensing guidelines, CECE and university policies and procedures, and is directly responsible for the centers health and safety compliance, maintaining classroom ratios, center staffing coverage, and risk management. Collaborates with the Program Director and Executive Director for curriculum development and training to ensure high quality programs and administrative consistency across all CECE classrooms, and may from time to time be assigned to instruct classrooms or fill in for the Program Director in the event of a leave or absence as needed. Provides front desk and backup support to all centers as necessary.

Requirements: Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
RequiredMaster's degree in Child Development, Educational Leadership, Psychology or related education.

6 - 10 years of related experience.
RequiredExperience in the implementation of the Program Self-Evaluation Process using the CPM/CMR document as required by Title 5 regulations.
RequiredExperience completing the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation process.
RequiredExperience in child, parent and family counseling in order to support child or parent needs.
PreferredExperience and/or knowledge of UC systems, polices, procedures and regulations.

PreferredExperience with the full scope of personnel management, including staffing, hiring, training, disciplinary action, termination, and performance management.

Minimum Requirements
Solid working knowledge of early childhood education, as well as related policy and regulatory compliance requirements. Intermediate computer application skills. Solid inter-personal skills, service orientation, ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, challenging environment, judgment and decision-making, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to resolve problems, and highly effective verbal and written communication skills. Skill and ability to lead and provide guidance to teaching, administrative and student staff in an early childhood
education center. Must test TB negative and have health screening clearance. Working knowledge of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation process,
with ability to ensure compliance with data collection, record keeping, and reporting requirements. Passes FBI and DOJ criminal check with approval from Dept. of Social
Services. Working knowledge of the Clifford and Harms Environmental Rating Scale. Working knowledge of the California Department of Education's Desired Results for Children and Families System. Knowledge of the Child Development Permit Rating Matrix requirements with ability to apply requirements in an
early childhood education site. Knowledge of mandated child:staff ratios for classrooms (infant, toddler, preschool age) with ability to create staffing
schedules to maintain compliance at all times. Ability to support curriculum development, lesson planning, and child assessments for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children. Ability to create action plans, performance improvement plans, and/or individual activities resulting from child
assessment outcomes. Ability to implement Individual Family Services Plans for infants and toddlers, and Individual
Learning Plans for preschool age children with disabilities. Ability to plan, coordinate and schedule professional and development opportunities for teaching staff and program
compliance. Ability to participate in professional advocacy and leadership activities with ability to build and maintain positive
partnerships and relationships with internal and external agencies and constituents. Ability to work with a diverse population of staff, parents, families, and children. Ability to plan, coordinate, schedule and facilitate appropriate parent and family involvement opportunities and
meetings. Ability to obtain feedback and information from parents and families to assess program quality and/or
make recommendations for improvements. Ability to develop and maintain familiarity of the health and safety conditions within the early childhood education
sites; ability to perform ongoing monitoring to maintain compliance and standards. Ability to generate correspondence and reports for various audiences and agencies as needed.
