Primary responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition; developing a research program in nutrition and securing external grants; advising graduate and undergraduate students, participating in curriculum development; collaborating with faculty on research and creative scholarship activities; serving on departmental, college and university committees and participating in other academic functions.

This is a 9-month tenure track position.

The Department of Family And Consumer Sciences is one of four academic departments within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and is accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in three program areas with the following six distinct specialty emphases: child development and family relations , child development early education and family studies (birth-kindergarten licensure), consumer sciences, fashion merchandising and design, nutrition and food science. Additionally, the department offers a Master of Science degree in food and nutritional sciences, a Master of Arts in Teaching in family and consumer sciences education, and a Master of Arts in Teaching in child development early education and family studies (birth-kindergarten licensure). Faculty members are actively engaged in research that contributes to the body of knowledge in the areas of nutrition, food science, housing, apparel, textiles and in child and family studies.

Doctorate (completed by date of appointment) in food and nutritional sciences or closely related field from an accredited university, demonstrated ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in nutritional sciences, successful experience teaching food and nutritional sciences, strong technology skills, documented record of scholarly achievement and grant writing experience.

Minimum of 3 years teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level preferred
