The Avery Coonley School is seeking a motivated, reliable and friendly individual to join our team as an After School Program Assistant. The ideal candidate will support the daily operations of our after-school program, working closely with the After School Coordinator to ensure a safe, engaging, and positive environment for all participants. This is a part-time position offered Monday – Friday, 2:45 pm – 6:00 pm
DUTIES:
Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities, including homework help, arts and crafts, sports, and other enrichment activities.
Supervise students as they play, ensuring physical and social-emotional safety
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages respect, cooperation, and learning.
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress and program updates.
Assist with the setup and cleanup of activities and ensure that the campus is kept clean and organized.
Help manage attendance records and ensure all students are accounted for.
Assist students with safely getting into vehicles during pickup time, ensuring that they are accounted for and connected with the correct guardian or authorized individual.
Indoor and outdoor supervision required for daily activities.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma: some college coursework in education, child development, or a related field is preferred.
One or more years of experience serving in a similar role at an educational institution or non-profit organization.Independent school experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for working in an educational environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Patience, creativity, and a genuine interest in the well-being of children.
