This is a 12-month audiology externship beginning in June 2025 at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. The externship is offered through collaboration between the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Doernbecher Children's Hospital, and the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, which are all part of Oregon Health and Science University. The audiology extern will participate as a long-term trainee in the Leadership in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Program, attending weekly interdisciplinary seminars, participating in community outreach projects, and completing and presenting a clinical research project.
Externs will gain clinical experience in a wide variety of audiologic services, including diagnostic evaluations of infants, children, adolescents and adults, hearing aid services, bone anchored hearing systems, cochlear implants, auditory brainstem response evaluations, pediatric ototoxicity monitoring, and interdisciplinary evaluation of children with developmental disabilities and complex medical conditions.
National EHDI Conference and many opportunities for grand rounds and other educational activities.
