An exciting opportunity to join the Human Neurobehavioral Core Service (HNBCS), a dynamic team of researchers and clinicians at Boston Children's Hospital interested in the causes and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The research assistant will assist HNBCS leadership in the coordination and administration of various interdisciplinary research projects including genotype-phenotype studies and clinical trials. Responsibilities include scheduling research participants and data collection. The research assistant will perform cognitive testing (e.g., Bayley-4, Mullen, DAS-II, WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, WASI-II) and other neuropsychological assessments (e.g., language, memory, motor functioning) on enrolled participants. In addition, they will administer diagnostic protocols including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview, Revised (ADI-R). Additionally, the research assistant will write summary research reports for participants. The research assistant will coordinate trainings of study staff and undergraduate student interns. There is also opportunity to perform statistical analysis on existing datasets and work on posters or publications. Flexibility to work on occasional weekends is preferred. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Works with other investigators/coordinators to develop and communicate study processes prior to each study implementation.

2. Collaborates with investigators/coordinators to schedule research visits.

3. Establishes research reliability on psychological measures listed above and administers assessments to research participants during study visits.

4. Score assessments and study questionnaires, and then coordinates the return of record forms to studies.

5. Writes research reports summarizing the results of the research evaluation.

6. Orders supplies or equipment used in studies. Works directly with the hospital and research laboratories to ensure correct testing/processing.

7. Organizes and completes special projects when assigned. Some researching of references using the library or internet is necessary, as well as conducting statistical analysis using SPSS or similar and is familiar with databases.

9. Administers and supervises trainings for undergraduate student interns and additional research assistants.

10. Attends coordinators' trainings and rounds, as appropriate.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required by the Position:

1. Position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree level of education with one to two years related work experience. Master's degree in a psychology or child development related field preferred.

2. Work requires knowledge of cognitive testing for children, such as the WISC, WPPSI, WASI, and Stanford-Binet. Position will require the assessment of these and other developmental measures to neurotypically developing children and children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

3. Position requires the analytical skills to gather and interpret data. SPSS or familiarity with similar programs is preferred.

4. Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills are required for the job. Superior organizational skills are vital in this position, as is the ability to work independently and prioritize important tasks.
