Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, the Director of Early Care and Education is responsible for supporting the advancement of innovative and evidence-based early child development programs. The Director of Early Care and Education provides leadership and guidance to co-design and support local childcare development services, professional learning models to support early learning and Universal Prekindergarten, and early educator workforce pathways. This position works collaboratively with school and district leaders, state and regional partner agencies, and the local community to build capacity through a culture of equity and growth, and fulfill the mission and vision of the Monterey County Office of Education.
