Baker Demonstration School, an independent progressive PK-8 school on Chicago’s North Shore, is seeking
an exemplary Associate Teacher for the Student Services Team. We value candidates who are passionate
about progressive models of learning, have an interest in child development and are innovative and eager in

The part-time position includes, but is not limited to:
Responsibilities
Support Middle School students with academics, both within the classroom and in a small group
Assist with implementing behavior plans
Provide executive functioning support
Assist with progress monitoring and/or assessments throughout the school year
Provide 1:1 or group social/emotional support as directed by the Social Worker
Collaborate with the Student Services Team and teachers on data collection
Assist with managing crises with the guidance of the Student Services Team and Leadership Team
Actively engage in school community duties, including recess/carpool/lunch supervision
Participate in professional development and meetings for Associate Teachers
Timely follow-up with clerical duties such as keeping classroom notes and organizing student files

Requirements
College degree or enrollment in a college program
Experience working with students with learning differences
Energy and the desire to learn and explore with teachers and students
