Manhattan Country School (MCS) seeks a full-time Director of Admissions and Enrollment to begin in late June or early July 2023. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic spokesperson for the MCS educational experience, passionate about progressive education and a skilled navigator of relationships between families and schools. They enjoy being an accessible participant in a school community and invested in fostering connections with students, parents, faculty and prospective families. As a member of a leadership team tasked with defining and achieving MCS enrollment goals, this position reports directly to the Director of Administration who in turn reports to the Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities include:
Leads all aspects of the admissions and enrollment process (marketing and communications, inquires, applications, playgroups, school visits for applicants, working with accepted and enrolled families)
Works collaboratively with Division Directors to track, manage and minimize attrition
Engages with the Communications and Advancement teams to ensure clear, consistent messaging that distinguishes MCS from competitive schools
Works closely with Finance to track and project enrollment goals
Articulates the MCS mission and the value of an MCS education clearly and compellingly
Prepares monthly statistical reports to track admissions and enrollment and determines where strategies need to be adjusted
Develops and implements data-driven strategies to ensure admissions and enrollment goals are met
Oversees and supports team of two (2) to meet goals of the department
Develops relationships with early childhood directors at independent, public, religious and charter schools, as well as educational consultants
Spearheads efforts to welcome and integrate new families into the MCS community
Develops, motivates and manages an internal team of parents, students, faculty and staff to support admissions work
Maintains an active presence and full participation in MCS community events
Qualifications and Requirements:
Demonstrated commitment to the school’s vision and mission
Ability to articulate the value of progressive education
Master’s degree in education or related field
A minimum of five years of admissions/enrollment experience at a comparable institution
Strong interpersonal skills with adults and children of diverse backgrounds
Experience working collaboratively in an inclusive community
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Organizational and project management skills, including the ability to delegate

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $130,000.
