We provide services to infants and toddlers, birth to age 3, with developmental disabilities or delays. SCES helps families build on their child’s individual strengths and provide supports to meet the child’s unique needs. Services support children in their communities where they live, learn and play. Funding for Early Steps is made possible through Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). IDEA is a federal law that assists Florida in providing family centered early intervention services. Federal funds enhance state and local resources. Early Steps works closely with the Department of Education, the Agency for Health Care Administration, and with other community providers to ensure the most effective early intervention services possible. Our vision is to ensure that families with infants and toddlers that have special needs achieve their full potential in the context of everyday relationships, activities, and places. Our mission is to promote and improve the knowledge and strengths of families and caregivers to enhance their infants and toddlers learning and development.
