Position Summary Position Purpose: Work effectively with other center staff to develop and implement the program and maintain the center's daily routine to provide a safe, vibrant and enriching program for the enrolled children.
Help plan, prepare and supervise optimal use of center space and equipment
Help plan, prepare and implement age-appropriate activities to enhance the children's emotional, social, motor and cognitive development
Maintain daily records of each child's schedule, dietary and medical needs
Maintain regular and open communication with parents regarding their child's daily schedule and developmental progress
Maintain the center's equipment and overall environment so that it is neat, clean and attractive, and in compliance with health, safety, fire, and licensing regulations
Other assignments as directed

High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 12 postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development
A minimum of one year of experience in a program serving infants
Current Infant and Child CPR certification
Registration in required fingerprint databases and clearance of background checks based on it\
Demonstrated ability to develop consistent, stable and supportive relationship with infants
Ability to relate well to and communicate effectively with parents
Ability to work well with students and colleagues; willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the SHS community

Regularly sit, talk, hear and to visually intercept visitors. Regularly uses close and distance vision;
Works in a highly busy and sometimes stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts;
Must comply with all state vaccination requirements and show proof of vaccination including but not limited to COVID-19 or proof of eligibility for exemption;
Must be able to regularly move safely and comfortably over a 64-acre campus;
Be able to regularly lift up to 10lbs and on occasion, safely lift up to 30 lbs.;
Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment and outside in weather ranging from cold and wet to very warm (80+ degrees);
Be able to crawl, bend, stoop, reach and sit on the floor.
