Junior Specialist for GAIN and APP Studies
This recruitment will be for two positions.
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, Davis invites applications for a qualified Junior Specialist for the GAIN and APP Studies at the UC Davis MIND Institute.
This position will be involved in interdisciplinary studies focusing on questions investigating the behavioral and developmental characteristics of autism in children and adolescents. These research programs seek to characterize clinically significant subtypes of autism to develop targets for supports and services to improve quality of life for autistic children. This position will work on the Autism Phenome Project (APP) and/or the Girls with Autism - Imaging in Neurodevelopment (GAIN) study. These studies follow children longitudinally throughout their development; this position will work on our middle childhood (ages 9-12) and adolescent (ages 15-18) phases of the study.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills; as well as the ability to work well independently and as part of a team. This candidate will work closely with the APP collaborative study teams, including Dr. Christine Wu Nordahl (Principal Investigator) and Dr. Brianna Heath (Program Manager). Position is full time, with variable work hours including evenings and/or weekends. This position may be up to 30% remote; the remainder of work will take place on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento.
The GAIN/APP research program embraces the concept of neurodiversity and welcomes autistic and other neurodivergent applicants.
