Child Care Services supports our faculty, staff and graduate students families with child development, education and services for their children.
Assistant Teachers are responsible for assisting primary caregivers in the care of six infants. Assistant Teachers share responsibility for establishing an effective environment for the children. Knowledge of Infant Development and of the Center's philosophy, policies, goals, and objectives are critical.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Documentation of MMR and DTAP immunizations as required by Community Care Licensing
Current California Child Development Program Permit.
Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
Must have three units of Infant Toddler course work.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a child development team, with children, parents, staff members, and community representatives in providing a quality educational program.
Effective communication skills, both with children and adults.
Thorough understanding of child development and the philosophy and methodology of early childhood education, as well as changes taking place in the field. Ability to relate to children as individuals in small and large groups.
Familiarity with federal and state health safety regulations applicable to a child care facility. Knowledgeable of NAYEC Accreditation Criteria.
Ability to plan, organize and direct a challenging developmental and instructional program for school aged children.
Ability to work with and be sensitive to a culturally diverse community.
Current First Aid and CPR cards.
Special Conditions Required:
Documentation of absence of active tuberculosis.
