Position: Full-time, twelve-month, annual renewable position as Education Specialist/Director of Early Childhood Development Center in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota starting August 1, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. Responsibilities: Directs the operation of the teacher training early childhood development center including, but not limited to, the administration of the education programming, personnel, and budget; sets policy and procedures; maintains licensing requirements; establish and maintain positive rapport with families and members of community; works collaboratively with faculty in the Early Childhood Education degree program to provide appropriate early childhood education laboratory experiences.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and Family Science; minimum of three years of Birth to Preschool classroom teaching experiences; minimum of one year of administrative experiences; shows evidence of developmentally appropriate practices; delivers high quality early care and education; demonstrates effective communication skills and cultural competency; collaborates with Early Childhood faculty in providing appropriate lab experiences. Knowledge of Minnesota Child Care regulations and NAEYC standards. Final job offer contingent upon complete background check and receipt of official transcripts.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and Family Science; current teacher license in early childhood education (Birth to 3rd Grade). Experience in supervising and mentoring student teachers; teaching experience in child development and/or early childhood education.
