Germantown Friends School is seeking a skilled and experienced Admissions Director who will be responsible for recruiting and identifying mission-appropriate applicants for grades K-5. Their primary role is to assist families and student applicants through the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment to achieve the school’s mission-driven enrollment goals.
This is a 12-month full-time position that reports to the Director of Enrollment Management, serves as a full Admissions team member, and professionally and effectively markets the unique attributes of Germantown Friends School.
Primary job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Oversee the completion of all applications for grades K-5; conduct tours and interviews with prospective families, train tour guides, Clerk (direct) Admission Committee meetings, and follow up with all families through email, phone, and mail.
Develop analytic reports and formats, and conduct analyses that support admissions and enrollment strategies and goals.
Facilitate applicant visits to the Lower School classrooms.
Conduct outreach to feeder schools and organizations and attend school fairs, increasing visibility of GFS in the city and near suburbs, with particular attention to new relationships that increase diversity enrollment.
Organize and administer Open House events and neighborhood gatherings.
Assist in managing the school’s Parent Ambassador Program.
Participate in the life of the school, including attending Lower School faculty meetings, assemblies, and Meeting for Worship.
Bachelor's degree or beyond.
Experience as an educator and/or knowledge of child development and elementary education.
Experience in independent school or higher education admissions.
Demonstrated proficiency with data modeling and analysis. Proficiency with the Veracross information system a plus.
High levels of energy, teamwork, initiative, collaboration, and familiarity with Quaker decision-making.
Strong written and oral communication skills, discretion, attention to detail, grace under pressure, and a sense of humor.
Commitment to diversity and multiculturalism.
Commitment to Quaker education and/or knowledge of GFS
Availability to work occasional nights and weekends.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.
