Berkshire Country Day School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher Assistant for PreK (3 and 4-year-old) Program for the 2021-2022 school year
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Partnering with the classroom Lead Teachers and other members of the preschool-level faculty to create a nurturing, vibrant, and safe environment for children.
Adherence to the guidelines of positive discipline; assistance of students with problem-solving and conflict resolution
Assist the two Lead Teachers in providing a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects on the children’s learning and growth
Implementing the teacher’s goals for the class community, as well as the teacher’s goals for the social and emotional development of the children
Assuming a leading role in the supervision of both classroom and playground to ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times.
Assisting in redirecting and supervising children throughout the day.
Taking initiative in recognizing an immediate need and meeting it without specific instructions
Understanding of the social, emotional, and academic needs of preschool age students and how to joyfully, and enthusiastically provide for them
Berkshire Country Day School serves students in grades PreK through eight. Faculty and staff are curious intellectually, flexible, and collaborative, and they view education as an engaging vocation.
*There may be an opportunity for this position to include aftercare supervising for lower grades as COVID restrictions are lifted in the future
*A minimum of a college degree in a relevant field and experience with young children
