National Presbyterian Child Care Center, located in Washington, DC, is conducting a search for a full-time Lead Infant Teacher. Now in its 14th year, National Presbyterian Child Care Center is dedicated to providing early childhood education to children of the faculty and staff of National Presbyterian School and National Presbyterian Church. A loving and inclusive community, NPCCC strives to facilitate the social, cognitive, and physical development of young children in a nurturing and stimulating environment. The Center offers a full-day program for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years old with hours of operation that are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Duties of the Lead Teacher position include implementation of age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for children approximately 6 weeks to 2 years of age based on principles of child development and in accordance with the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) licensing regulations and standards. The Lead Teacher will set up and maintain a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom environment; provide supervision and support to Assistant Teachers, as well as collaborate and communicate with colleagues regarding students, curriculum, parents, and special events. Teachers maintain accurate and complete records on each child’s attendance and development, establish positive relationships with families, communicate regularly with parents, and conduct bi-annual parent-teacher conferences.
