Trinity School, a co-educational K-12 institution located on the Upper West of Manhattan, seeks a Grade Three Head Teacher beginning September 2021.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to education (Master’s degree preferred) and at least three years of experience in teaching Lower School.   Strong candidates will possess:

• A demonstrated love of children
• Knowledge of child development from ages 7 to 10
• Experience creating Social Studies and Language Arts curriculum where all children can see themselves reflected in the program while simultaneously developing a curiosity about the world around them
• Experience with mathematics where children feel supported, challenged and grapple with difficult, deep problems
• A passion for the complexities of the social-emotional lives of children
• A joyful dedication to education that holds high standards for children’s intellectual growth
• Interactive, adaptive classroom management skills which both facilitate order and learning while respecting children
• A  commitment to an equitable classroom culture
• A demonstrated attention to how race, gender, and other aspects of identity manifest themselves in the classroom
• An ability to work collaboratively and generously with colleagues, both on the team and across the division
• Strong communication skills
• An optimistic, purposeful work ethic
