A member of the senior administrative team, the Associate Head of School acts as a strategic partner to the Head of School and provides leadership for the daily operations of the school. Responsibilities include:
Promoting a healthy and positive school climate for students
Work with the Head of School and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to develop and manage academic and social policies, protocols, and practices that serve to support students development, learning, health, and safety.
Schedule and oversee student assemblies and clubs
Coordinate school-wide student events, including September orientation and student assemblies
Significant experience with strategic and operational school leadership, including planning and leading a school through COVID-related policy development
Experience working with children in early childhood and elementary education
Experience with DEI work personally and professionally
Deep knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum, and child development
Experience with branding, positioning, and strategic thinking
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and to listen to, understand and synthesize ideas from all school constituencies
Authentic, engaged approach to being part of the internal and external community
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
