Sun Valley Community School is seeking a dynamic preschool teacher to work with 3 year old children in our Early Childhood Program for the 2021-22 school year. This is a full-time position with benefits, beginning August, 2021.

Creativity, sense of humor, love of children, knowledge of child development, experience with emergent curriculum and inquiry-based learning, and a reflective teaching practice are skill sets we are seeking for this position. 

In addition, the candidate should demonstrate:

• Joy working with three-year old students, and a deep understanding of the developmental breadth found in early childhood
• Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community
• Knowledge and commitment around diversity, equity, and inclusion practices 
• A desire to continue seeking professional development
• Excellent writing skills
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues inside and outside of the curriculum
• Effective positive communication with students and families
• Curriculum design and assessment experience
• Experience in daily observation and documentation in the classroom
• Ability to receive feedback
• High standards of professional conduct

• A strong interest in nature and outdoor education; all Early Childhood staff participate in local day trips as part of our Outdoor Program
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood Education is preferred.
