We are seeking a warm, experienced, and motivated Kindergarten Head Teacher in our Preschool Program beginning in the 2021-22 school year. A Kindergarten class is made up of approximately twenty-two students with one full-time Head Teacher and one full-time Associate Teacher leading the class. We have three Kindergarten classes at Packer which are part of our Preschool program, and all three classes are housed in our Early Learning Center.
Packer’s commitment to diversity requires all faculty members to actively and thoughtfully engage in work involving identity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. We actively encourage applicants with broad and diverse backgrounds to apply.
In a child's Kindergarten experience, we value a balance between encouraging healthy social-emotional and identity development, establishing and deepening connections within the classroom community, and fostering a love of learning through exploration and an introduction to early academic experiences. Our Preschool program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach in which we appreciate all aspects of a child's development and encourage children to be at the center of their own learning. Potential candidates must have a Master's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education and established head teaching experience working with young learners. An ideal candidate must be a strong collaborator and also demonstrate a caring and enthusiastic personality along with excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working in the Reggio Emilia philosophy is highly preferred.
Please send resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org with "Job Listing 120019" in the subject line of the email.
